DIY (of Sorts): Wood ends for the Roland RS-09?!?

So, then, is it Synth-DIY if you've only made wooden ends for a synth? I don't know, but I couldn't resist the temptation to abandon the plastic ends of my Roland RS-09 organ/strings for wood, in this case Poplar, which was left over from one of my other wood-working projects. Does it improve the tone? Nah...
