The Washington Municipal Auditorium enjoyed a brief and apparently not-terribly-successful life. Located at 19th and E Streets and New York Avenue (about two blocks west of the White House), it opened in 1924 or 1925, had its last major event rather soon after, in 1933 (!), and by the late 1930s had been converted to government office space.
